In the first of a
continuing series on New York City
Nightlife, our staff decided that
our first gallery/feature should review
one of the most popular Gay Nightclubs
in the city: Roxy.
We arrived at Roxy's
beautiful location, 515 W. 18th
Street (Between 10th and 11th Ave),
with cameras and boyfriends and boy
friends (if you know what we mean!)
in tow.

If you've never been to
Roxy, and even if you've been there many
times before, there's always a great feeling
upon entering the cascading stairs which
lead up to the nightclub.
After getting frisked (hey,
security is important here, and besides,
getting frisked is kinda fun, isn't it?),
we drifted into the main bar area. Arriving
at 11:00 p.m., we didn't expect much eye
candy that early (hey- 11:00 p.m. is early
in the Big Apple!). Boy, were we surprised!
The Go-Go
boys were hot and already everywhere!
The customers
were enjoying the complimentary cocktails
(currently offered on Saturday nights from
11:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.), and we quickly
joined them!
After cruising around the
dance floor and the back lounge/comfy sofa
areas, we ventured up to the upper bar,
where we were ecstatic to find Madonna,
Cher, and many other 80's and 90's icons
and divas, spinning on the turntables. From
that moment on, we were torn between the
intimate upper bar, and the gargantuan main
floor. Both areas offered more men than
you could ever do in a year, let alone an
evening! Whew!
Nightlife is still alive
and thriving in NYC, contrary to what many
say. Be sure to visit Roxy for an exciting
night where you can escape all of life's
wicked dealings!
